A patients thinks they are being charged to text 64711

64711 is a “free to text” short code.

This means it’s setup with agreements that each of the UK network providers don’t levy a charge to the end user to text this number.

Sometimes we have seen confusion with mobile bills where a patient believes they are being charged to text this number. This is usually confusion on the patients bill or misinformation from their network provider.

The issue of charging is something between the handset owner, their network provider and the contract they are on.

Unfortunately mobile networks won’t discuss individual cases with us and hence all charging enquiries should be queried and resolved directly with their network provider.
