Florence isn’t displaying a text message correctly

It’s very unlikely (more like impossible) that the content of a text message sent by a patient will be displayed in the application incorrectly. All the content of a text message is passed through and displayed on Florence as received.

You can check the exact message content by looking in the list of “All Messages” in the relevant patient.

One thing to be aware of is characters that look the same when displayed on a computer screen, for example:

“1” and an “I”

“O” and “o”.

If, for example a patient texted in a high Blood Pressure of 180/120 however they mistyped this as I80/I20. (Note that I have changed the “1” into “I” and they look the same as you are reading this). Then Florence is unable to understand the “I” character in the context of a numerical reading and will display a very low blood pressure of 80/20.

If you believe there is a discrepancy then ask the patient to re-text their readings. Or, as it’s unlikely 2 different people will make the same mistake ask the patient to hand their phone to a friend or relative who maybe present and text in on their behalf.
